When I rented a car, I was asked twice if I wanted the insurance and replied both times “No, my insurance covers it.” The agent entered my info and said that I had to sign the electronic signature box. I did and the agent printer the document. I got the car and left.
When I returned the car I was charged over $500 additional for insurance. The agent had entered a “yes” instead of “No” for insurance into the computer when I rented the car. I complained to the manager and he called me a liar to my face and said the everyone accepts the insurance and then claims that they didn’t.
I will report this to Thrifty headquarters and my congressmen, but probably will get no relief. This kind of scam has to be addressed, probably thyrough law. Needless to say, I will NEVER rent from Thrifty again.

I had exactly the same problem. I called thrifty and they told that i signed so they have the right to cheat on me because i was tricked into something i didn’t want. They told me i had to read the docs better. now the docs were unreadable still have a copy, it is not clearly mentioned, tiny letters.
Problem is that is specific told the clerk No to any options or issuance.
They get a percentage every time they sell. So they got me after a 22 Hour travel to the US. Never thrifty for me they are a SCAM !!!!! they took 377,66 Dollars of my Visa account
