I worked at LL Bean store in VICTOR, NY from its inception in June 2009. I Thought I was working for one of the most upstanding companies in the world but boy was I wrong. The store manager ( who shall remain unknown) was a bully and a bigot. She slowly but surely got rid of people of color and people of diverse sexual preferences. Her remarks to employees of diverse sexual preferences were sickening to say the least.
I was the last person of color left in the store so she made my life so miserable that I had no choice but to resign.
First she removed me from the floor so that I had no contact with the customers. ( I was one of the best sellers in the store) Second.. She moved me to the back of the store to do menial tasks.
Third…She cut my hours to 9 hours a week ( how does one survive on 9 hours a week at $ 8.76 an hour???)
The icing on the cake was when I heard her say…..THIS STORE IS GOING TO BE AN ALL AMERICAN …..ALL WHITE STORE.
She took my hours and gave them to the so called WHITE EMPLOYEES.
When I took my complaint to the district manager, nothing was done about it. I then took it further to corporate who did an inquiry but I was later informed that the Gay Slurs were substantiated BUT they were still keeping her as the store manager.What a farce. Employees have left the store because of her by droves but she still remains.
My 6 monthly reviews stated I was a top performer / solid performer but the higher ups at LL BEAN did not take that into consideration and chose to keep a BIGOT/BULLY who has not only lowered the standard of the store but sapped the morale of its employees. SHAME ON YOU LL BEAN
so here i am at the charter house inn in bain brigde ga and my husban wanted to go swiming but was turned around and told that the pool was out of order two hours later there are people in the pool wat is it an all white pool i thought those days where gone but here i am 2012 and its real is there any one whom can help me
