Not all revenge has to do with the anger of scorned lovers. There is also a considerable amount of revenge that goes on in the workplace, which is no surprise. If you happen to keep a bunch of adults in a room together for eight hours a day for an extended period of time, there’s bound to be the occasional squabble that pops up and has to be dealt with through a heaping serving of revenge!
The following story is about the pitfalls of social media sites. One woman had a job with a coworker who would spend all of her time on MySpace instead of working. The woman didn’t generally mind until it got to the point where the coworker was on the social media site all the time, rather than actually doing her job. Eventually, the woman got fed up and decided to take revenge against the slacker coworker.
The woman made a fake MySpace profile with pictures of the coworker—along with obscene captions beneath the photos. Then she sent out messages from the fake profile to everybody in the office—including the boss. Needless to say, the slacker coworker got into a lot of trouble, and there had to be a company meeting about “using the internet inappropriately at the workplace.”
It just goes to show that even if you’d like to rest for a few minutes during work, you should make every effort to ensure that your social media breaks are just that—a few minutes long. If you don’t do any work, don’t be surprised if you get served with revenge!
